Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What in God's name is this?

Online calendars are great. That is not exactly what Skedwool is. Skedwool is a collaborative scheduling tool that allows users to quickly establish dates for events that can work for a group of people. The end result are then displayed in a calendar, so it is easy to confuse us with other calendar applications.

I already have a calendar

Well good for you. Luckily, you can import your existing info into Skedwool so you don't lose any important info, or need to re-enter. As well, if you create important events info in Skedwool, this is easily shared with any other calendars. Just select Export button and then import this info to any other program that supports iCal format (.ics). These includes iCal on Macs, Google, or MS Outlook 2003/2007.

How does it work?

There are two primary ways to work on Skedwool. We call them negative and positive techniques. Using the positive technique, when users set their availability (on the Preferences page) to available, they are essentially saying to whoever they are connected to that they are available at all times for an event. The liklihood that someone would set up a business meeting at 4 am in the morning is slim, but it could happen. Using the negative technique, users set their availability to busy (on the Preference page), and they then create a placeholder on their personal calendar page for whatever times they are available for event creation. Then other users on their network can only include them as part of an event during these placeholder times.

How is info delivered?

Skedwool realizes that we need to get you your event info in as many and facile ways as possible. All information is therefore delivered in the following ways: on the skedwool portal, in an email, and we are working on our SMS service.
